Ultech Engineering recently organized a successful basic PLC workshop with Siemens SIMATIC S7-1200 Controller in collaboration with the Curtin University Malaysia students and IEEE Club to provide practical training in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). The workshop was led by Ultech Engineering presenter Miss Wong Voon Xing and assisted by Mr Kelvin Tiong Ka Yung and Mr Mike Gaby Law Ik Pin and focused on utilizing the Siemens SIMATIC S7-1200 Controller for monitoring fish tanks or aquaculture systems on the 4th of May.
The workshop attracted 27 enthusiastic students from the Curtin Students and IEEE Club members, eager to delve into the realm of PLC programming. Divided into two sessions, the morning session, running from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM, accommodated 13 students from Curtin University Malaysia, while the afternoon session, from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM, welcomed 14 students of IEEE Club. This division ensured personalized attention and optimal engagement for all participants.
Led by our charismatic engineer Miss Wong Voon Xing and assisted by Mr. Kelvin Tiong Ka Yung and Mr. Mike Gaby Law Ik Pin, the workshop aimed to equip students with practical skills in PLC programming, focusing on the following objectives:
