The event commenced with discussions on the Vendor Financing Programme, Licensing, Registration & Procurement, and SME Sustainability and Growth. These discussions shed light on the various support mechanisms and opportunities available to vendors, particularly SMEs, aiming to expand their engagement with Petronas.
One of the most significant takeaways from the event was the introduction of online marketplace platforms, Dropee and Lapasar. These platforms allow Petronas vendors to directly showcase and sell their products and services to Petronas engineers and procurement teams. This innovation greatly streamlines the procurement process, eliminating the need for the lengthy Request for Quotation (RFQ) and contract bidding procedures, thus enhancing efficiency and accessibility for vendors.
Furthermore, the event emphasized the importance of a Vendor Development platform, which serves as a bridge for vendors looking to enhance their capabilities and connect with potential partners within the industry. The Innovation Gateway platform was also introduced, offering a means to register intellectual properties associated with businesses. These platforms can significantly contribute to the innovation and development of the oil and gas sector by fostering collaboration and technology exchange.
Sustainability and financial aid were also central themes of the event. The Petronas partners were informed about the importance of adopting sustainable practices and the financial support available to them in this regard. This direction aligns with global efforts to reduce the carbon footprint of the oil and gas industry and promotes the adoption of eco-friendly solutions.
In conclusion, the Sarawak OGSE Partners Day event on 19 October 2023 was an informative and interactive platform for Ultech Engineering and other participants. The event provided valuable insights into the evolving landscape of the oil and gas industry, introduced innovative solutions to streamline procurement processes, and highlighted the importance of sustainability and financial support for Petronas partners.
