Staying Safe and Healthy in Electrical Environments

Several common health risks are associated with certain jobs, such as those held by our employees in Ultech Engineering. Protecting yourself and your family is important if you work in one of these high-risk professions. Here are some tips for staying safe and healthy while working in electrical environments.

1. Make sure to wear appropriate safety equipment

This includes helmets, gloves and eye protection. Wear rubber-soled shoes to help prevent electrical shocks.

2. Learn how to do your job safely

Learn how to do your job safely by taking first aid and CPR courses. Stay alert when working in high-voltage areas. Avoid distractions and don’t work while fatigued.

3. Always use caution when working around electrical equipment

Ensure that the area is clear of any tripping hazards before beginning work, and always test for live wires before touching them. Turn off the power first if you need to make adjustments or repairs.

Ensure your work area is well-ventilated and free of dust, chemicals or other hazardous materials.

4. Work with quality products and expert services

Whether for electricians to handle routine maintenance or skilled electrical engineers to design complex systems, it's essential to work with technicians with the expertise to deliver top-notch results.

Have another good long weekend holiday!
