


Ultech Engineering recently participated in MIMOX Expo Malaysia 2025, a two-day exhibition held from 29 to 30 October 2025 at Meritz Hotel, Miri. The event, themed “Bridging You to East Malaysia's Key Marine, Offshore and Oil & Gas Market,” brought together more than 100 exhibitors and served as a platform for industry players to connect, collaborate, and explore opportunities within Sarawak’s growing marine and energy sectors.


Ultech Engineering proudly participated in MIMOX 2025, under the auspices of the Sarawak Association of Maritime Industries (SAMIN). As an active member of the association, Ultech joined the exhibition to strengthen its presence in the maritime and oil and gas sectors while supporting SAMIN’s mission to advance Sarawak’s shipbuilding and marine industries. Representing the company at the event were Mr. Eddie Sim, Director of Ultech Engineering, Ms. Bong Chu Jun, Assistant Sales and Service Manager, Ms. Christina Binti Jemat, Electrical Engineer, and Mr. Anderson Chieng, Automation Engineer, who collectively showcased Ultech’s capabilities and engaged with industry professionals throughout the exhibition.
Meanwhile, the marketing and sales team attended the event as visitors to support and capture insights from the exhibition, which featured over 100 exhibitors, industry talks, and business networking sessions.



During the exhibition, Ultech Engineering showcased a range of innovative solutions from its global brand partners. Among the highlights were DEIF’s iE350 and AGI 307, known for their precision and reliability in power management applications.
Ultech also featured Mitsubishi Electric’s GOT2000 HMI and MELSEC iQ-F PLC Controller, demonstrating seamless automation and intuitive control capabilities — supported by the MOXA AWK-3131A, an industrial-grade wireless device engineered for fast and reliable data transmission in demanding environments. These technologies were also showcased by Ultech during the Innovation Week at Western Digital Sarawak last September, highlighting their versatility and strong relevance across multiple industrial applications.
To further engage visitors, Ultech displayed the CABEX Cable Gland demo kit, designed for hazardous area applications, showcasing its commitment to safety and compliance in industrial installations.

Reduce the risk of cyberthreats to crews, cargo, and ships while avoiding costly disruptions and delays. The iE 350 Marine is IACS UR E27 certified, helping vessel operators comply with the revised E26 unified requirement from IACS, effective for newbuild vessels as of July 1, 2024.

The modular architecture of the iE 350 Marine allows easy customisation to meet exact system requirements. Users can select specific modules for measurement, I/O, control, and other functions — and even expand or replace modules in the field as needs evolve. The user interface can also be tailored to display only the most relevant data for onboard crews.

The 7-inch colour touch display offers intuitive navigation through configurable dashboards, while the multi-colour indicator LED provides clear operational feedback. Crews can operate the iE 350 Marine using physical buttons, touchscreen, navigation keys, or soft buttons or any combination of these for maximum convenience.

Built with a high-performance processor, the iE 350 Marine can handle complex control applications with ease. Through CustomLogic™ and a CODESYS add-on, users have the flexibility to adapt and design customised control solutions for future-ready maritime systems.

The DEIF AGI 307 is a 7-inch HMI panel designed for real-time visualisation and control of onboard systems. It connects seamlessly with DEIF and third-party controllers, allowing operators to monitor multiple setups, alarms, and performance data through an intuitive touchscreen interface. Compact, durable, and easy to use, the AGI 307 functions as a small SCADA system for marine and offshore applications.


The Human-Machine Interface (HMI) acts as a communication bridge between people and machines, simplifying complex data into intuitive visual displays.

The MOXA AWK-3131A delivers industrial-grade wireless performance, supporting IEEE 802.11n technology with data rates up to 300 Mbps. Its ability to operate on both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands, coupled with MXview’s wireless visualization tools, future-proofs wireless network investments.

As part of the exhibition, Ultech Engineering also showcased CABEX cable glands and accessories, designed specifically for hazardous area applications where safety and reliability are critical. Manufactured to meet stringent international standards, CABEX cable glands provide superior sealing and strain relief for cables used in environments exposed to explosive gases, vapours, or dust.
These cable glands are built from high-quality materials to ensure corrosion resistance, mechanical strength, and long-term durability. They are suitable for use in Ex d (flameproof) and Ex e (increased safety) installations, offering dependable protection for electrical connections in offshore, marine, and industrial environments.
Supporting the glands are a range of accessories such as earth tags, locknuts, sealing washers, and shrouds, each designed to enhance safety and maintain the integrity of cable entries under harsh conditions.

Apart from supporting the Ultech Engineering booth under the Sarawak Shipbuilder Pavilion (SAMIN), the Marketing and Sales team also explored various exhibits throughout the event to discover emerging technologies and innovative solutions.




Among the booths that stood out was CONQUEST, which showcased its explosion-proof rugged smartphones and tablets, designed specifically for use in hazardous and high-risk environments. The CONQUEST Ex-proof mobile communication devices combine advanced durability, safety certification, and modern connectivity, making them ideal for industries such as oil and gas, marine, and manufacturing.
These rugged devices are engineered to withstand extreme conditions, offering shock resistance, water and dust protection, and certified explosion-proof safety standards, ensuring reliable communication even in the most demanding field environments.
In support of this, Ultech Engineering partners with Capeserve Energy to offer IECEx CoPC preparatory courses and assessments in Sabah and Sarawak. Through this collaboration, Ultech hosts the training sessions while Capeserve Energy manages the assessment process. Participants who successfully pass the evaluation will receive official certification from Exert Certification, qualifying them as competent personnel for hazardous and explosion-risk environments.

The emphasis on explosion-proof devices showcased by CONQUEST also resonates with Ultech Engineering’s ongoing work in hazardous environments. Ultech recently modernized the Seligi Platform’s Fire Water Pump Control System, which utilizes an IECEx Zone 2 certified explosion-proof panel designed in accordance with NFPA 20 standards.

During their tour of the exhibition hall, the Marketing team also visited several booths to interact with other exhibitors and learn more about their offerings. One of the memorable stops was at the IPOGI Consultation and Engineering booth, where the team took part in a fun quiz activity prepared by the exhibitor and received a tote bag as a token of appreciation.

Another booth that caught the team’s attention was Dive Resources Sdn. Bhd., a company offering marine and ship maintenance, as well as NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) topside and underwater services. The team was particularly intrigued by the commercial diving helmet showcased at their booth, a vintage-style piece representing the essential gear used in underwater welding, inspection, and ship maintenance.


The display served as both a nod to the heritage of professional diving and a symbol of the advanced underwater technologies applied in today’s marine industry, reflecting how safety and innovation continue to evolve beneath the surface.
