Invite to OGA 2024: Recap of Ultech Engineering's Participation in OGA 2023

Ultech Engineering proudly participated in the Oil and Gas Asia (OGA) 2023 event, held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. This prestigious event provided us with a platform to showcase our cutting-edge solutions and innovations in the oil and gas industry. Our booth attracted a significant number of visitors, industry professionals, and potential clients, all eager to learn about our offerings and capabilities. With OGA 2024 fast approaching, let's take a look back at the solutions that were shown at Ultech Engineering's booth last year.

Ultech Engineering's OGA 2023 Demo Kit

The main highlight of our exhibition booth was the demonstration kit, which showcased an integrated solution capable of being monitored and controlled remotely via the public internet (4G). The demo kit featured a range of equipment from our portfolio, including a Mitsubishi Electric flagship iQ-R PLC and an Allen-Bradley Compactlogix PLC.

  • Mitsubishi Electric iQ-R PLC: This PLC simulated an HVAC AHU application, with a local Mitsubishi HMI for monitoring operations locally.
  • Allen-Bradley Compactlogix PLC: This PLC controlled the operation of a generator engine, simulated by a DEIF PPM300 generator control platform.

Both PLCs were connected to a centralized GENESIS64 SCADA from Mitsubishi, enabling monitoring and control of both applications from a central control room. The SCADA system offered customized dashboards for energy management and equipment Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

A key feature of our demo kit was the ability to monitor and control processes remotely via the public internet, facilitated by the Ewon Flexy Wireless router. This router allowed asset owners to access the SCADA remotely, enhancing flexibility and operational efficiency. For demonstration purposes, we used a tablet connected to the exhibition hall's Wi-Fi to start and stop processes, showcasing the system's remote capabilities.

Siemens Industrial Edge Demo Kit

Another major attraction at our booth was the Siemens Industrial Edge application demonstration. This demo featured a redundant S7-1500 PLC running a bottle-filling application, complemented by an Industrial PC serving as an Edge device.

  • Energy Manager App: Running on the IPC, this app provided visualizations of key KPI parameters through a customized dashboard with widgets such as a heatmap and a Sankey diagram. The heatmap highlighted peak energy consumption times, while the Sankey diagram depicted the flow of energy and water consumption for each piece of equipment.

The Siemens Edge device demonstrated its capability to run multiple Edge apps simultaneously, including anomaly detection, equipment OEE, and error notification. It also supported connectivity to third-party devices and the loading of third-party Edge apps, emphasizing the versatility and integrative power of Siemens' Edge computing solutions.

Looking Forward to OGA 2024
