On 11–12 September 2025, Ultech Engineering proudly participated in the Western Digital Thrive Innovation Week 2025, held at Western Digital, Kuching, Sarawak. Representing Ultech were Mr. Wang Zhi Xian, Project Automation Manager, alongside two members of the marketing team, Izazi and Kenneth, who joined to engage with visitors and promote Ultech’s brand presence.
The two-day exhibition at Western Digital brought together industry leaders, academics, and policymakers under one roof, creating a platform to showcase creativity, explore breakthrough solutions, and foster collaboration in shaping the future of operations and digital transformation.
As a prominent player in power systems design and industrial automation, Ultech Engineering showcased its cutting-edge brand partner products from Mitsubishi Electric—the GOT2000 HMI and MELSEC iQ-F PLC Controller—supported by the MOXA AWK-3131A, an industrial-grade wireless device designed for fast and reliable data transmission.
The Human-Machine Interface (HMI) acts as a communication bridge between people and machines, simplifying complex data into intuitive visual displays.
Key features of the GOT2000 series include:
These features make the GOT2000 suitable for diverse industries requiring robust and efficient operator-machine interaction.
The MELSEC iQ-F Series elevates industrial control with outstanding performance, superior drive control, and intuitive programming. Scalable from standalone use to networked system applications, it represents the next step in advanced automation, supporting businesses in reaching new levels of operational efficiency.
The MOXA AWK-3131A delivers industrial-grade wireless performance, supporting IEEE 802.11n technology with data rates up to 300 Mbps. With dual redundant DC power inputs, PoE support, and compliance with strict industrial standards, it ensures reliable connectivity in demanding environments. Its ability to operate on both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands, coupled with MXview’s wireless visualization tools, future-proofs wireless network investments.
The first day began with a buffet lunch thoughtfully prepared by Western Digital for all exhibitors, creating a warm and welcoming start to the event. Shortly after, the exhibition officially commenced as Western Digital insiders and staff made their way through the venue, visiting each booth to discover the latest innovations, engage with exhibitors, and gain insights into the showcased technologies.
To make the booth experience even more engaging, Ultech introduced a social media activity. Visitors were encouraged to follow Ultech Engineering on YouTube and TikTok, where the company regularly shares updates, project highlights, and insights into the world of automation. As a token of appreciation, those who joined the social media community received exclusive Ultech shaker bottles and notebooks. Additionally, every booth visitor received an Ultech measuring tape as a gesture of appreciation for visiting the booth and expressing interest in the demo kit.
A highlight of the day was when Ultech Engineering received an appreciation plaque and certificate for participating as an exhibitor, presented by Mr. Chok Siong See, Senior Director and Site GM of Western Digital. During his visit, Mr. Chok was given a demonstration of Ultech’s showcased solutions, with Mr. Wang providing a detailed explanation of the demo kit.
The afternoon continued with a series of insightful industry talks. One of the highlights was a session by Ir. Dr. Hudyjaya Siswoyo Jo, Associate Professor at Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak. His presentation, “Building the Ecosystem for Successful Digital Transformation,” explored the essential components organizations and industries need to thrive in the digital era.
Adding to the impact, Mr. Lee Wah Soon, Senior Instructor and Acting Head of the Electrical Academy at the Centre for Technology Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS), delivered a talk on how technology can support Sarawak’s economic growth and future development.
Following the insightful talks, participants returned to the exhibition floor to continue exploring the booths. This booth walkthrough provided visitors with the opportunity to engage directly with exhibitors, ask further questions, and experience live demonstrations of the showcased technologies. For Ultech Engineering, this was another valuable opportunity to connect with industry professionals and decision-makers, while reinforcing the role of automation and power systems in driving industrial efficiency. The booth remained lively with discussions and networking until the close of the first day’s program.
The second day of the Western Digital Thrive Innovation Week 2025 exhibition began with another lunch session hosted by Western Digital, giving exhibitors and participants a chance to network and exchange ideas in a casual setting.
Following lunch, the booth walk resumed, with visitors returning to explore the innovative solutions showcased by Ultech Engineering. In addition to the GOT2000 demonstration, Ultech Engineering also took the opportunity to promote Mitsubishi Electric’s latest release, the GOT3000 HMI, which officially launched just last month. Although the GOT3000 unit was not physically showcased, Ultech played an exclusive product video at the booth to introduce visitors to its new features, upgraded performance, and enhanced user experience, further sparking interest among industry professionals eager to explore the next generation of HMI solutions.
On Day 2, the Ultech Engineering team had the opportunity to visit every booth at the exhibition, creating meaningful opportunities to discover innovative products and solutions, exchange industry insights, and explore potential collaborations. These interactions not only broadened Ultech’s perspective on emerging technologies but also strengthened connections within the industrial ecosystem, making the overall exhibition experience highly rewarding.
In the afternoon, Western Digital treated all exhibitors to light refreshments, creating a welcoming break from the busy exhibition activities. The spread featured a selection of traditional kuih and biscuits alongside hot tea and freshly brewed coffee. This thoughtful gesture not only offered a chance to relax and recharge but encouraged casual conversations and networking in a more laid-back setting.
